About Acacia EPZ

Building Sustainable Value Chains, Transforming Lives

From a bold vision in 2015 to East Africa's leading Gum Arabic exporter — connecting pastoralist communities across Kenya's vast drylands to the world's largest food and beverage manufacturers.

Our Mission

To transform Kenya's Gum Arabic value chain into a climate-resilient, inclusive, and commercially viable economic pillar for ASAL communities, while delivering premium, traceable ingredients to global markets.

Our Vision

A world where dryland communities thrive through sustainable natural resource management, powered by fair trade, innovative logistics, and climate-smart agriculture — positioning East Africa as the world's most reliable Gum Arabic origin.

Our Story

From Kenya's Drylands to Global Markets

Kenya's arid and semi-arid lands cover 80% of the country's landmass and hold 12,000 metric tonnes of untapped annual Gum Arabic potential — yet less than 8% is currently harvested. Acacia EPZ was founded to change that.

The Sudan conflict, which disrupted 70% of global Gum Arabic supply, created a strategic window for Kenya. Our deep relationships with pastoralist communities, combined with world-class quality systems, position us to fill this critical gap while generating transformational impact for East Africa's most vulnerable populations.

Today, we operate across 9 Kenyan counties with expansion corridors into Ethiopia and South Sudan, backed by European development partners and global ingredient leaders through long-term off-take commitments.
